No, not this ring.
The Ring of Kerry is a circular scenic route which is often undertaken from Killarney. We were actually already on the Ring in the previous episode. Kerry is of course County Kerry, not a mobile-wielding girl.
A few minutes up the road from the rhododendrons, I arrived at Moll's Gap. It's a popular mountain pass and vantage point.
A prominent feature is this rock outcrop. While I was standing in the car park, other tourists started exclaiming and pointing their cameras upwards. Some deer had made an appearance on the top of another outcrop. Unfortunately while I was trying to frame them, they bounded away and that was the end of the photo-op. Oh deer!
There were however some captive animals on view.
The road leading to the gap.
From here it was downhill to Kenmare at the head of the eponymous bay. I have no record of stopping there, so I must have turned right before the town to hug the northern bank of bay, and the southern coast of the Iveragh Peninsula.
To be continued in Sneem, otherwise the posts will get too long.
