It was my own fault, I should have paid attention to the GPS. When I left the B&B, not having arrived the day before by N70, but the ferry, I thought I should turn right to reach the Dingle Peninsula. That took me back to Waterville, a town I had traversed before reaching Valentia Island. I should have turned left to go through Cahersiveen town. So I was wet like this pooch.
But the views were good, so I took some panoramas.
It was the sea to the right of my direction of travel that alerted me to my mistake. There is a highly rated golf course here.
And a statue of Charlie Chaplin because he visited every year for over 10 years from 1959.
Flags in solidarity with Ukraine.
About 45 minutes further along I made a stop here. Unfortunately I didn't note the name of the spot, but it might be Mountain Stage Viewpoint. The buses probably indicate that we are still on the Ring.
Assuming I'm correct, that would be the Dingle Peninsula, the next one north, that we are looking at across the bay.
Upon reaching Castlemaine, I turned west onto R561 and left the Ring.
